Book #44

Side-by-each Heart book

I made this heart-shaped book several years ago for a book swap. I often dust off the photos around this time of year. As you can see, it is bound down the middle with the cover opening on both sides. So there are really two books, side-by-side. I don't know if binding a set of pages down the middle to create two books like this has a special name - I have not seen any other examples of it, actually. If any passing readers know of a name for such a thing, please leave me a comment!

If you're wondering... the phrase side-by-each is a colloquialism in some parts of Atlantic Canada (i.e. Newfoundland) and used the same as side-by-side.

Side-by-each is also an English colloquialism used in some parts of Quebec.

This is really cute! I am trying to decide how or what would go on the pages. Would make a great old-fashioned autograph book.

I'd also be curious to know if there is a name for that type of binding, but The Side-by-each sounds just beautiful to me!
I love that you are doing this one book a day experience! it must be a great exercise for you, but I enjoy witnessing what comes out of it! very inspiring!
